About Impostor:
Impostor Factory is the third story RPG maker game of the To the Moon series that changes up a lot of things and manages to be both a sequel and a prequel. Lots of changes are introduced for this game. Instead of exploring and figuring out the story like in the previous games, here it feels like someone just takes us for a ride. It’s a lot more linear, none of the puzzle or mini games. Changing the perspective of how the story is told makes it refreshing. It tries somehow new with a strong start of a murder mystery that fizzles out into the routinely emotional story that the series knows we expect. And while it’s a good story, it’s emotionally less hard hitting than the previous games. But in it’s stead the meta plot of the doctors is explored more with giving some answers and leaving more questions. Overall this game is a bit too ambitious, but still decent that makes more sense if you played the previous games and feels like it’s a great set up for the next game. Controls are the standard found in RPGmaker games with the addition to play with the mouse. Playing the game feels like a walking simulator in RPGmaker form. A small windowed resolution is the best way to play through it as fullscreen can cause lots of issues. The quality of the visuals is noticeably higher from the previous games in the series and even they did stand out among RPGmaker games.
