About De Pride Isle Sanatorium:
A cute, pride-themed game that has mechanics similar to Parappa the Rapper. I loved the visual style, characters, and gameplay a lot. The boss battles were the highlight for me, and I loved seeing how the bosses would transform after being defeated. There is also an added challenge with hardcore mode, where in addition to playing the song, you have to set up the parade, which gives this game an interesting twist compared to other rhythm titles. One thing that was disappointing was the in-game music. It wasn’t nearly as good as the tracks that played on the menus, which is a bit of a letdown for a rhythm game. If you can look past a meh soundtrack, Pride Run is a great game. Pride Run has rainbows, unicorns, cities all over the world and especially representation. What more could you want? The soundtrack is fantastic and all the button smashing is very satisfying! The pixel art is incredibly well done and super fun to look at. What I like most of all is the theme and how the LGBTQ+ world is shown to be. It has many things that made me laugh when I saw them the first time, like all the characters in the parade or the attacks or the bosses. I think that Pride Run is a very fun game and that it’s really good to have a game about happy queer people!
