About Adopt And Raise A Baby:
I am not a fan of rogue like games at all. The only reason I picked this up was because the idea of a creature summoning game that wasn’t turn based was interesting to me and I am so glad that I did. The game balances out the rogue like elements and the persistent elements really well. There are persistent unlocks, such as buffs and debuffs on creatures and temporary stats, such as synergies. Synergies make your ‘team’ function differently each run. This makes it so, yes there are very powerful combos, but no you aren’t going to always get them. You can’t really ‘min-max’ completely, yet each run, the decisions you make need to be considered for what would be optimal in that situation. You also unlock other things over the course of the game, it doesn’t hold your hand in what to do, each run you are figuring stuff out so you never have an ‘ugh gotta get through this AGAIN’ moment. At the same time I rarely find it super frustrating, even when a run ends, it’s just ‘okay, lets go again’. It’s a really good blend of what I think appeals to people in rogue like games and ARPG games. There are bugs but so far the dev team have been really responsive to them, they are pretty active on the discord, asking for information and taking interest in feedback. It’s a small dev team but they are responsive to the community.
