About A Legacy Time:

If you’re looking for a quick roguelite fix, a single playthrough of this campaign will definitely do that for you, but don’t expect it to be a roguelite to sink 100s of hours into, as it’s not really that re-playable after initially completing it. The replayability of this game feels significantly lower compared to other roguelites due to a lack of interesting decisions to make during the run, as both the relics you find AND the starting traits tied to your character are typically too minuscule of bonuses to make or break your run (except for maybe the relic that gives you an extra life). As a result, most runs will play out with you min-maxing the early regions to gain health upgrades and relics, and then hoping you have enough HP to defeat the current region’s boss. There really wasn’t a single run where I found a cool combo with my relics and traits; all the variability came from the starting class and the starting class alone. To go further into traits and relics, the starting traits were cool to mess with in the first 10 or so hours of the game, but you eventually find out which ones are useful and which ones are too annoying to deal with (the worse traits give you more gold, which is the meta-progression currency in this game). For example, there’s one starting trait that makes the game black and white. This is fun at first, but considering that some runs can be over an hour, it’s not worth dealing with just for a 30% gold increase. You’ll soon find that close to half the traits are this way, and I honestly kinda gave up halfway through and just kept killing my character till I got the most tolerable/favorable traits.
